laurahines:

It’s been a while since my last update — I’ve been completely preoccupied with a series of illustrations (that I can’t reveal yet!) and my blogging work at Juxtapoz. My caffeine addiction has once again reared its ugly head, and I’ve developed an unhealthy obsession with Law & Order: Criminal Intent, or more specifically Det. Goren. (excellent viewing fare while drawing - I daydream of having his genius detective babies).

So for the absence of updates, here’s an adorable grinning puffer fish. Don’t cuddle him too close, though - he’ll poke your eye out with his smile.

buggirl: Beautiful and dainty Damselfly, the more slender cousin of the Dragonfly and every bit as deadly to other bugs!  I’m not sure of the species, the closest match I found is a Blue-fronted Dancer.  This one appears to be male based on his vibrant colors.  Damselflies can be found along the edges of lakes and their larvae in the lakes themselves, as they are aquatic predators!  I found this one at the ponds at school.
